Wellness Examinations / Annual Examinations
As our pets age at much greater rate than we do, It is essential to recognize the importance of wellness / annual and even bi-annual exam in senior pets.
Þ We highly recommend a yearly exam for young and healthy animals. Þ Senior pets (more than 7 years of age) we recommend twice a year exam. Þ For animals who are on medication or have special needs we recommend twice a year exam to give them a good quality of life. Þ We recommend annual and/or bi-annual blood work for all senior and special need animals. Þ We provide comprehensive exam taking all the time to explain all the questions you have. Þ We individualize all the schedule including vaccination, fecal exam, heartworm test and other special needs your pet may have. Þ We can guide you about your pets nutrition and behavior during annual exams and keep track of what is changing in time.

What is the need of annual exam when my pet is healthy otherwise? As you probably already know one year of your pet’s life is almost equal to 7 years of ours. A lot can change in your pet’s health in that time. During these annual visits we can focus and discuss about all these changes which you may not be able to notice at home. We can detect these little problems earlier in their life so that we can discuss and start a plan to solve these issues. Our ultimate goal is to give your pet a healthy, happy and a good quality of life.
What is recommended with an annual exam? We will discuss with you which vaccines are recommended specifically according to what your pet’s lifestyle and exposure is. We will customize your pet’s vaccination schedule as needed in the future as he/she is getting older and as new vaccination changes are taking place. We also recommend doing Fecal Exam along with Heartworm Test once a year along with annual exam and vaccines. For our senior pets more than 7 years of age, we highly recommend with an annual exam annual wellness blood work should be done which can assist you and us determine not only outside but inside health of your pet. Surgery: Laser Surgery Is Our Specialty We are well equipped to perform all routine surgeries to advanced bone surgeries, And yes we use laser to perform all surgeries and there is no extra charge to use laser when we are doing routine surgeries like spay/neuter. We recommend and perform all pre-surgery blood work and we can do in the hospital with our in-house well equipped laboratory while you wait or at the time of drop-off for surgery. We use the safest anesthetic protocol possible according to your pet’s age, breed, the type of surgery and what the pre-surgery blood work tells us.

Dentistry: According to the latest clinical studies done on dogs and cats, Almost 80% of dogs and cats will develop dental disease very early in their life. They can develop very rapidly and progress very fast if not controlled and treated in time. We provide advanced dentistry. We can discuss with you how to take control and treat dental problems from day one at the time of their first exam. In-House Laboratory: We have full range of machines at our disposal in our hospital to do most kind of blood work and many other diagnostic tests while you wait. They are extremely helpful in case of emergency. We can get blood work results in most cases within 10-30 minutes and that can help solve you pet’s health related problems sooner. We can also do more advanced blood work and non-emergency blood works with the help of outside laboratory. The outside laboratory can give us detail reports which sometimes are not possible with the machines available at our laboratory.
Radiology / Ultrasound / Echocardiogram: We provide X-Rays within minutes when needed. We sometime take help of visiting board certified radiologist to read X-rays on special need basis and to provide advanced diagnostic tests including ultrasound and echocardiogram.
EKG / Blood Pressure: We have very advanced machines to check EKG and blood pressure on a regular basis in our heart patients.
Nutrition: We carry many different kind of prescription diets for your beloved pets. In many cases we can control and treat many diseases only with the help of these prescription diets without the need of medicine. We can discuss all your pet’s nutritional needs according to his/her life stages. We can help you find the right food at right age for your beloved pet so that we both can improve their quality of life. We recommend Hill’s Science Diet. We carry both high quality regular food (which are much cheaper than pet stores) and also all sorts of prescription diets. |
